As the confetti cannons popped, it wasn’t the colorful streamers floating through the air that caught our attention. It wasn’t the cute getting ready robes that looked like watercolor in the beautiful getting ready room at Green Gates Farmhouse wedding venue. And honestly, it wasn’t even the fact that we knew how pretty these images would be. So what caught our attention?

JOY

Joy filled our camera lenses, joy flooded the getting ready room, and joy was the theme of Mellie + Luke’s wedding day!  From the moment that we arrived at Green Gates Farmhouse wedding venue, we could feel that something was special about this day, and we were so right. We entered Mellie’s getting ready room, which is a dream to photograph in with its white walls and windows that welcome natural light. But even brighter than the light was the smile on Mellie’s face because the day that she had dreamed of for years, even when they were dating in high school was finally here! Mellie radiated joy her entire wedding day and getting to be present was such an honor. From popping confetti with her best girls and laughing the entire time, to dancing and singing to Truth Hurts by Lizzo (feel free to go ahead and sing along “Fresh photos with the bomb lighting…” Mellie’s bridesmaids were all so excited to celebrate Mellie on her wedding day and it was so sweet to watch them help her! We always love when the bridesmaids mission is simply to be present for the bride, and that was definitely the case with these sweet women!  And gosh did we have fun!

Celebrate

Because when you’re marrying your best friend, we believe it’s a celebration! Mellie and Luke’s wedding day was a celebration of love, a celebration that two wonderful people found the love of their life and we’re so honored to have captured it. We hope you feel so much love and joy while viewing some of our favorite moments of their day! Here’s to love and celebrating the joy it brings!
